The Q-Switched Nd: Yag and the Ruby Laser is the most superior new class of state-of- the-art laser technology specifically designed for tattoo treatment. The Q-Switched Laser machine produces an intensive, short but gentle burst of light that breaks down tattoo ink without harming the surrounding tissue. Tattoo removal is successful for most clients, but results cannot be guaranteed.
Treatments must be performed within 6-8 weeks to receive the most effective results. The procedure is not painless and is described as flinging of an elastic band with a bit of heat.
Please consider that complete removal of your tattoo may not be possible. Certain pigments are especially "stubborn" and may require multiple treatments for ink particle lightening or use of an alternative laser. A series of treatments may be required averaging four to seven sessions for amateur tattoos and eight or more sessions for professional tattoos.
Immediately following the laser treatment, the treated area may crust or scab on the skin requiring special care with topical antibiotic ointment, bandages and limitation of activity in some cases for a period of one to two weeks post treatment. Be aware that Paradoxical darkening can occur in some facial cosmetic tattoos (eyeliner, lip liner) and rarely, in some coloured tattoos. There is a minor chance that skin hyper-pigmentation (brownish or dark discoloration) or hypo-pigmentation (lightening of the skin) may occur. Indentation or depression of the skin and skin texture changes or scarring is extremely rare but may occur. Avoiding exposure to the sun, scratching or picking the treatment area can prevent this.
I acknowledge that I do not have any communicable diseases that can be transferred through blood or air including, but not limited to HIV, Hepatitis or Tuberculosis and that I have informed the laser operator of such a disease so that proper safety measures can be taken and further explain the healing process.
I am not pregnant or breastfeeding/ I am not under the influence of alcohol or drugs prescription or other and if so have discussed this with the laser operator.
I also agree to have photographs taken that will identify only the areas to be treated. I agree to wear protective eyewear to protect my eyes during treatment.
I understand that I need to provide 48 hours notice for any time changes or cancellations of appointments and that a cancellation fee may be incurred if not adhered to.
I agree to notify Tattoo Removal Institute if anything has changed in my medical background since my last treatment and I still understand the contents of this page and my questions have been answered satisfactorily.
